The following was composed by John’s family:

John Andrew Jacobs, of Exeter Township, Berks County, PA, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026, and entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior.

Born in Pennsylvania on June 16th, 1962, he was the beloved son of the late James Philip Jacobs and Margaret Virginia (Wahl) Jacobs. John graduated in 1982 from Vocational-Technical School, where he became a certified welder, a trade that reflected his strong work ethic and skilled hands. He later earned an Associate Degree in Computer Software Engineering from Montgomery County Community College, West Campus, and became a certified Computer Hardware Technician with Konica. Early in his career, he worked alongside his father at Urix Corporation, a time he cherished deeply.

In 2001, John met his wife, Nannette (Dunning) Jacobs, at Montgomery County Community College. Together, they shared a lifelong partnership filled with love, faith, and devotion, building a Christian home centered on family.

Above all else, John was a devoted father and a man of faith. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Johannah Elizabeth Jacobs, Chris Gregor, Josh Gregor, Daniel Gregor, Ronin Gregor, John Gregor, Ashley Campbell, and Jared Walker, whom he considered his greatest accomplishment in life. He is also fondly remembered by his grandchildren of the heart, Joshua Gilberthorpe, Elijah Gilberthorpe, and Cheyanne Gilmer. John loved spending time with his children, cherishing every moment with them. His love for his family was unconditional, and deeply rooted in his faith.

John had a joyful life and a heart full of compassion. He loved photography, biking, hiking, and exploring nature, and he often stopped on the side of the highway to capture the perfect sunset. He found joy in raising and caring for his nine chickens, a hobby that reflected his appreciation for life’s simple blessings. John had a kind and generous spirit he often would check on his lonely elderly neighbors, offer friendship and help to others in need. His favorite color was plaid, and his favorite flower was the dandelion, simple reminders of the beauty he saw in everyday life.

John will be remembered for his intelligence, determination, quick wit, generosity, devotion to his family and the quiet strength of his convictions.

Psalm 139:11-12 (NLT) -
I could ask the darkness to hide me
and the light around me to become night
but even in darkness I cannot hide from You

A service to celebrate John’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Fairview Mennonite Church.
